Cleanse me from these hidden faults.

cleanse me from these hidden sins

Sin, big or small, all have future or even immediate consequences in our lives. And as long as you still have breath sin is inevitable. It’s everywhere even in our bedrooms where we think we are far away from the rest of the world. Even in places we consider sacred, sin is always there waiting for someone to lure into its trap. Many, many times we quarrel in our hearts, we complain silently, we even ‘kill’ people in our hearts by wishing them death yet God doesn’t wish even the worst of sinners – destruction (Ezekiel 18:23,28) – what did Jesus say, “[Anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.]” in the same way we murder people in our hearts whenever we wish them death. We conceal jealousy in our hearts, we covet without noticing that it isn’t right, we play nasty movies in our mind, …” In fact, outside faults are very easy to identify than the faults within. That’s why King David says, “How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.” And for the sins he understood and knew he had committed them, he says, “If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” (Psalm 66:18)

God, have mercy on me! How many times have I played ignorant of the sins I know I have committed; and yet there are those secret sins I know not! Lord Jesus, teach me and give me the grace to pray as David prayed. Help me to be set free from the known and the unknown faults I have committed. Apostle Paul warned me of “sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, and wild parties” (Galatians 5:19-21), but, there are heaps of other sins just like these that I do not know of, so help me Lord that I may repent or ‘even’ avoid their path. Lord, You said that “God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.”, help me to be the vessel that pleases the Father and always be willing to do His will. I dedicate my life into Your hands and into the Precious Blood that You shed for my sake. Cleanse me Lord from all the sins I have committed in Jesus’ name. Amen!
