How much does God love us?
That much that He sacrificed His One and only Beloved Son Jesus Christ [John 3:16] to save us and get us back to Himself. We had got lost in sin, living in sin, horribly stained that the only way to cleanse us was by the blood His own, Jesus Christ. The blood of animals and birds could but just for a moment while the blood of Jesus is eternal and cleanses without end, shed once, for all, and forever. This is God’s grace. All those who rebelled against the Lord, those who wanted to earn grace by their own efforts, their own doing, their own righteousness, fell and died in the wilderness. [Numbers 14:28-29]
It’s foolish for one to think that you can contend with God.
God’s grace is very costly. Yes, it’s true it costs us ‘nothing’, but it cost God heaven’s best, Jesus, to get it to us. This is God’s love for you and me. Love with the most expensive sacrifice ever made for man. And man turns around to abuse it because it costs him ‘nothing’. Oh no, being saved by grace [Ephesians 2:8-9] shouldn’t be an excuse for us to live life the way we want, for God is Holy, so whatever we do with our lives, we need to ‘check’ to avoid living in a mess. First Peter 1:14-16 says, “As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as He who called you is Holy, so be Holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be Holy, because I am Holy.””
And we should also be very careful especially about the “certain individuals” Jude talks about in verse 4, who have secretly slipped in among us, who pervert God’s grace into license for immorality and deny the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jude said, “I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s Holy people. For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. (Jude 3-4)
These people Jude talks about are real and they are out there looking for who to divert from the truth to their own way of life.
Let’s be careful and live life the way God meant it. Let’s live in the grace of Christ for which He died for. Galatians 2:21, “Christ didn’t die for nothing“. We are the redeemed of God, and redeemed by the blood of His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ.
God Loves You!
