We can always rely on Him”

“I cry out to God Most High, to God, who vindicates me.”

I cry out to God

But, do we really trust God in this, that He is able to rescue us from whatever circumstances we may find ourselves in, that He can and also willing to defend us against every opposition?

Despite of all the ways God has made Himself known to us and what He is to us, many times we find ourselves carrying what we shouldn’t be carrying. We overload ourselves in the process of trying to make things work out fast our own way and we get frustrated in the end. We sometimes tend to weigh problems — “This is too small to take it to the Lord — we say”, and later we realize that our judgment was wrong. There is nothing like “too small or too big” for the Lord to solve. God knows everything and He does all things for us, big or small.

David, in his trying moment, where he would have given in to worry trying to free himself from the hands of Saul, chose to give his battle to the Lord who fights for the freedom of the afflicted. He knew that only God could vindicate him. He knew only God could give him justice. He didn’t run to his family or friends or any other able person but to God. He said, “In the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by.” [Psalm 57:1]

In this corrupt world where justice is for the well able, we can’t rely on anyone for safety or justice. Only God is dependable and we can always rely on Him because He cares for those that find their refuge in Him.

Let our petitions be made known to Him and stop burdening ourselves with what we cannot do. We have to take our burdens to God and thank Him for what only Him can do. God does not wish any one frustration, He says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” [1 Peter 5:6-7]

God understands every detail of whatever troubles us and He is for us. God vindicates each and every one of us, He performs all things for us, He supplies all our needs, God fulfills His purpose for all His children, and He will never leave or abandon those that put their trust in Him.

Jesus Is Lord!
