And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak
It’s very possible to follow a crowd and say what it says but doubt whether what you speak will yield a positive effect in your situation or whether your request will be granted. We see Jesus test two blind men in Matthew 9, He asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” Jesus wanted to hear it from their own mouths if they really believed that their request could be done. And their “YES” was without doubt that Jesus is able to do what they asked for. They knew who they were pleading with. “… Son of David, have mercy on us!” And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” [Matthew 9:27-28] – Jesus is able.
Another instance, we see Jesus in Mark 9:22-23 correct a man who doubted His ability to heal his son by simply telling him that, “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Jesus wanted him to get to the path of faith. This man might have heard of the works of Jesus but didn’t believe He could heal his son. “If You can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” He compared the Savior, Jesus to the condition of his son and saw impossibility – yet “with God nothing is impossible”. God is bigger than any problem!
Today, we can boldly speak what we want see – we can speak to any situation because we know Him, we trust Him and believe He is able to do all things, He has anointed us with His own Spirit to speak with authority in His name. He says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” [John 14:12-13]
Beloved, trust in the Lord and declare what you want to see done. There is power in the words of your mouth – power to destroy and power to create. Therefore, do not regard yourself as man without power. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” [Proverbs 18:21]
None of us would desire to “taste the bitter part of the fruit of our own tongue, rather the sweet one”. We received the Holy Spirit to lead us in all the ways of God and He will always prompt us to speak positively.
May the LORD grant your heart’s desires according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.
Jesus Is Lord!
