“Baptism cannot be compromised in any way.” It’s an obligation that each and every follower of Jesus Christ has to fulfill to signify his/her submission to Christ as the Lord and Savior of his/her life.
When Jesus commanded the Apostles to go and make disciples of all nations, He didn’t end there; He also told them to baptize those who believed the message of the gospel. He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” [Matthew 28:19] “Baptism is for every believer.”
Living like Jesus compels us to “dying to sin, burying of the old life, and resurrection to a new life in Christ — just as He died for our sins, buried, and rose to life again.” And the way we attain this new life is by baptism.
“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.” [Romans 6:3-5]
Were you baptized brethren? If yes, congratulations! And if not yet, you’re encouraged to fulfill it.
Jesus Loves You!
